ANDREW Upton has praised his wife, Cate Blanchett, describing being married to the Oscar winning actor as a “thrill”.
Upton, 48, told Confidential at the Helpmann Awards red carpet that he is proud of his wife, who picked up best female actor in a play nod for her work on the Sydney Theatre Company’s The Maids.
“I’m so proud of her. I mean look it’s so interesting, she has just finished doing The Maids in New York which is what she has been nominated for. It has been very well received over there, which is great,” Upton said of his wife, who wasn’t able to attend the Helpmann’s as she is still in the US.
“And her work is beautiful and amazing.”
He also revealed to be married to Blanchett, 45 is “a daily thrill.”
The pair have three children and have been married since December 1997.
