Have Cate and Andrew adopted a baby girl?

If this indeed true – welcome to the family, baby girl! 🙂 And congratulations to Cate and Andrew and the big brothers 😀

She’s already the proud mother of three boys, and it seems Cate Blanchett may now have a daughter.

According to The Australian Women’s Weekly, the 45-year-old Australian actress and her husband Andrew Upton have added to their family, adopting a little girl named Vivienne.

The magazine reports the award-winning star has told close friends at her sons’ Sydney primary school about the addition to the family, with one pal telling the publication: ‘She’s really excited and clearly besotted’.

The publication also said: ‘The Weekly contacted Cate’s representatives who have confirmed the parents have adopted a baby girl’.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Cate’s representatives for comment.

Cate already has boys Dashiell, 13, Roman, 10, and Ignatius, seven, with her husband Andrew, to whom she’s been married since 1997.

Despite her busy filming schedule and being a director of the Sydney Theatre Company alongsider her husband, the actress makes time to be a proactive mother.

Regularly on the school run and making time to spend with her children in between filming, Cate also mentions her kids in interviews from time to time.

The Australian actress appeared on Sunrise to promote Cinderella on Tuesday and revealed her excitement over her children actually being interested in one of her movies.

‘My children are completely in the stage where I’m an utter embarrassment,’ Cate laughingly admitted.

‘I don’t force them on a Saturday night to sit home and watch mummy’s movies, wire coat-hanger in hand, but they’ll see this one for sure’ she said enthusiastically.

  1. It would be great if she does have a girl, after all those boys, lol. However, I will wait until it is confirmed fully.
I like what she said about her kids being at that stage now.

  2. Don’t believe until it’s confirmed by her people. Dailymail is not a reliable source and the ‘one pal telling the publication’ always sounds fishy.

    • I’m always very cautious about these kinds of news but apparently it was already confirmed by reps of Cate and Andrew? At least I read that in another article. We’ll have to wait and see I guess 🙂
